The Department has been a pioneer in the field of kidney transplants and has successfully performed 800 transplant cases till date.
It is also a pioneer in the removal of kidney stones by key hole surgery(PCNL) and for the use of flexible and rigid ureteroscopy for the removal of fine stones anywhere in the urinary tract using lithoclast,ultrasound or laser to pulversise the stone. |

Treatment of urethral stricture by a variety of procedures such as internal urethrotomy, urethroplasty or using skin or other substitutes.
Flexible and rigid ureteroscopy for the removal of fine stones anywhere in the urinary tract.
Treatment of tumours in the kidney treated by radical nephrectomy.
Removal of kidney tumours extending into the vena cava or heart in collaboration with the cardio-vascular department.
Tumours of the bladder treated by endoscopy or where necessary by open surgery.
Tumours in the urinary bladder are treated endoscopicly and if necessary total removal of the bladder is done with reconstruction of the urinary tract, Urinary obstruction caused by prostrate disease treated by endoscopic surgery using conventional energy sources or by laser.
