| Dr. D Janardhana Reddy, M.S, DNB, Chief Cardio vascular surgeon. In 1997, he was called upon to head the department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Vijaya Heart Foundation. He started his training under Pudmabushan, Dr.M.R.Grinath. Dr.Reddy is one of the first cardiac surgeons in the country to start minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedure. He has performed numerous beating heart surgeries in South India. He also pioneered the technique of ventricular restoration surgery which is well recognized internationally. |

CATHETERISATION LAB (Cath Lab) |

| The cath lab at Vijaya Hospital is one of the largest of its kind in Chennai, and is headed by an experienced team of cardiologists, technicians and support staff.
Since its inception in 1996, the cath lab has performed around 30,000 coronary angiograms, with 5000 of them being coronary interventions. There have been 800 permanent pacemaker cases, ICD and CRT implantations. Around 555 PTMC and 763 non coronary interventions have been successfully performed. These include peripheral, carotids, renal intervention as well as embolization, PDA closure, ASD closure and IVC filter placement. There are two state of art GE labs- GE Advantec and GE Innova 2000 flat panel labs. The Innova 2000 has advanced features like spin and bolus chase which are useful tools for complex interventions. |
