About the Department |

| Dr. D Janardhana Reddy, M.S, DNB, Chief Cardio vascular surgeon. In the year 1997, he was called to head the department of Cardiovascular Surgeon at Vijaya Heart Foundation, Vijaya Hospital. He started his training at railway hospital and later at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, under Padmabushan Dr. M.R. Grinath, earlier. Dr. Reddy is one of the first cardiac surgeons in the country to start minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedure. He has performed maximum number of beating heart surgeries in South India. He also pioneered the technique of ventricular restoration surgery, which is internationally well-recognized. |

| Dr.Paul Ponraj, BSc, MS, FRCS, Con. Cardiothoracic surgeon has been trained in cardiac surgery, in Southampton Hospital, St. George's Hospital and Hare field Hospital, United Kingdom. His interests are Adult Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic endoscopy and Pulmonary Surgery. He joined Vijaya Hospital as a Sr. Consultant and Cardio Thoracic Surgeon in 1996. |

| Dr.K.V.Muralidharan, MS, FRCS.Con.Cardiovascular Surgeon, has been trained in Cardio-Thoracic surgery in the United Kingdom at Wythensane Hospital, Manchester West midlands cardiac surgical training programme, which involve Adult and Paediatric cardiac surgical training. Later he was trained in Australia and New Zealand for two years. On His return from Australia, he joined as a consultant Cardiac Surgeon at the Child Trust Hospital, Chennai in 1995. He is still continuing to be a consultant there, mainly doing work at the hospital. |

| Dr.P.Balasubramanium, MS M.Ch., FRCS., Con.Cardiovascular Surgeon, started his career in the Government General Hospital, Chennai, after which he joined as Consultant Cardio-Thoracic surgeon at Vijaya Heart Foundation. |

| Dr.P.S.N.Raju, Chief Cardiac Anaesthesiologist started his career as Cardiac Anaesthesiologist at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai in the year 1989. He worked there until 1989 in various capacities including Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetist. He has given anaesthesia for more than 5000 cases. He has presented many scientific papers at various National Conferences. In the year 1998, he took over as Chief Cardiac Anaesthesiologist in Vijaya Heart Foundation, Vijaya Hospital, Chennai. |
